Prescription Eyewear for Inmates & Institutional Orders
For over 20 years, Choice Eyewear has helped families, caregivers, and institutions get prescription glasses to people in prisons, jails, and correctional facilities across the country.
Ordering glasses for an inmate isn't like a normal online order. Every facility has its own rules โ approved frame materials (often plastic-only or metal-free), restrictions on lens tints and cases, and exact addressing with the inmate's name and ID number. A parcel that gets any of it wrong gets rejected. We've spent two decades learning these rules so your order gets accepted the first time.

โFrequently Asked Questions
1. Can I send glasses directly to an inmate?
Yes, in most facilities, families order from an outside vendor and we ship directly to the facility addressed to the inmate. Rules vary by facility; check our guide or contact us if you're unsure.

Most facilities require plastic-only or metal-free frames and restrict tints, cases, and accessories. We stock frames built for these common restrictions.
3. What information do I need to place an order?
The inmate's full legal name, ID number, and the facility's exact name. We'll confirm the addressing format with you before shipping.
4. How long does it take?
Standard processing plus shipping time is around 2-3 weeks; the facility's mailroom inspection can add a few days.ย
5. What if the facility rejects the parcel?
Contact us right away โ we'll work with you to fix the issue and make it right.
